I am a Licensed Professional Counselor gone rogue. Schooled in Clinical Psychology after 40 years of practice, I'm orienting through the soma, the wisdom of our bodies. Here's a bit about me.
My parents are from Ecuador, where it's pretty common to have nannies help raise large families. They had 8 kids and brought in two uneducated, monolingual Indian women (angels in disguise:) to be our primary caretakers. My upbringing exposed me early to cultural diversity and an amazing range of perspectives between life in the US and the experience of that in a third world country. My earth school lessons began early, bouncing back and forth between countries, cultures, languages and all the nuances of socialization in schools, religion and family.
Belonging and connection is something I observed and began questioning at a very early age.
My sense of separateness began my journey as a seeker. The contradictions in the teachings of the Roman Catholic education didn't sit well. Looking back I can see that I wasn't allowing the indoctrination all the way in. In many ways we were all hypnotized by our early childhood conditioning. I began looking for a way out... studying psychology, the eastern teachings and practices of yoga, energy and plant medicine.
I credit pain as my greatest teacher. Life had it's way with me and I ended up alone... alone with sadness, sorrow, grief and unrelenting anxiety. Surrendering to these waves of emotion and sitting with my shadow is what ultimately brought me home to my heart and to the peace that sits and waits inside all of us. Being with what hurts creates an alchemy inside. I'm still in process and humbled by these swells of energy that assert themselves in my life. Recognizing there's a divine design operating within this process is helpful. And I can promise you that the peace behind the turbulence is real.
The embodied practice of yoga, somatic breathwork, plant medicine, nature walks, writing and meditation have supported me immensely in my journey from the head to the heart and I love sharing them. There's a wellspring of regenerative energy inside each of us that we have not been taught to find. But through these practices we can peel away the layers to find the gold within.
I've been counseling, coaching and teaching in the field of psychology for 40+ years however, my primary focus and true calling is to assist you in awakening this sacred life within.
I speak Spanish, the language of the subconscious, facilitate The Work of Byron Katie, incorporate new modalities in energy psychology including hypnotherapy, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Tapping, Somatic Release Breath work, Yoga, Shamanic Reiki, sound healing, and my new personal favorite... integrating plant medicine.
I meet clients in my home, over the internet, in parks, lakes, gardens and lead group embodiment classes to those interested in adding the support of heart-minded community to their journey.

My greatest teachers in this earth school have been my children.
